Artists Talk: Edoardo Agresti and Gianluca Capri
Please join us for a fascinating insight into the practice of two of Italy’s most successful photographers.

Edoardo Agresti is a partner of Nikon Professional Service and teaches for Nikon School Travel as well as exhibiting internationally and has published in several international magazines and travel guides.
Gianluca Capri studied in Paris in 1998 and has since exhibited internationally including Artisti in Campo (2008), Gallery Park Palace, Monte Carlo (2009) and has received awards such as Venice International Photo Contest (2007).
The two photographers currently have exhibitions of recent works at The English Speaking Union and The Italian Cultural Institute, Edinburgh to raise funds for Oxfam’s ‘Light Gives Life’ initiative.

Photography and the Artist’s Book Symposium

This one day symposium, which precedes the 6th Manchester Artists’ Book Fair, will draw together theorists and practitioners in order to fully explore the issues raised by the relationship between photography and the artist’s book, investigating the following ideas:

- Sequence, Seriality and Typology
- Audience: Zines, Multiples and Limited Editions

Masterclass with Colin Wishart
A 2-part masterclass with photographer/architect Colin Wishart in Jan/Feb 2011 at St Andrews Museum.
This will accompany ‘Lanwei / Decaying End’, an exhibition of large scale prints by Hong Kong based photographer anothermountainman (Stanley Wong), which features evocative abandoned building projects across Asia, and which will also be on show at St Andrews Museum.
Only 20 places available on this masterclass, bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

Wolfgang Tillmans: A Photoworks Talk
Presented by Photoworks in partnership with Brighton Photo Biennial and University of Brighton.
Wolfgang Tillmans explores the ideas and relationships between contemporary art and documentary practice in response to BPB2010: New Documents
Over the past 20 years, Tillmans has redefined photography and the way it is presented. Born in 1968 in Remscheid, Germany, he studied at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art and Design in the early 1990s. The first photographer to win the Turner Prize in 2000, Tillman’s has shown internationally, including solo exhibitions at PSI in New York, Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin and the Serpentine Gallery, London.

Brighton Photo Fringe supports photographers and lens-based artists by opening up spaces, coordinating participatory projects and creating opportunities. Every two years Brighton Photo Fringe brings together a city-wide festival of exhibitions and events that runs alongside Brighton Photo Biennial.
Brighton Photo Fringe is open to anyone who wants to take part - all you have to do is organise an exhibition or event and register for the Brighton Photo Fringe brochure and map.
